Along with great food and world-class customer service, excellent coffee is at the heart of Spot's cafés. What makes our coffee special?

We spend a lot of time selecting beans from farms around the world. Our goal is always to let each coffee “speak for itself”, finding the right coffee for each use. Spot's roasting team inspects the coffee at each stage of selection, roasting, and brewing to be sure that our blends and single-origin offerings are meeting our standards.

As a bean is roasted, it goes through a number of different physical and chemical changes that must be carefully monitored and regulated to create the best flavor profile. The best “recipe” changes constantly, depending on the type of bean, the age of the crop, and even the temperature in the room! Spot's roasters work in small, 30 to 40 pound batches, tracking the time, temperature, and scent cues from the coffee, allowing excellent control over this process.

Good coffee is like good bread. It's really best when it's fresh! Spot only buys in-season coffees that have been recently harvested in their country of origin. All of our bags of roasted coffee proudly display a “Roasted On” date to assure freshness, and we take great care in delivering and brewing only the freshest beans.

Whether you're enjoying a latte, a glass of our delicious Cold Brew coffee, or taking a bag home yourself, Spot guarantees the highest level of quality. We invest heavily in the training and equipment in our cafes, which shows in every drink served by our friendly baristas. Spot Coffee's team takes meticulous care through every step of purchasing green coffee, roasting, blending, and bagging, knowing that every step of that journey impacts the cups we brew.
We're passionate about coffee. Spot is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, and we're delighted to have members of the Roaster's and Barista Guilds preparing and serving coffee to our fellow coffee-lovers.
Spot Coffee's roasting facility is located right next to our original cafe, in downtown Buffalo, NY. Be sure to check the website for upcoming events including cuppings, brewing demonstrations, and roastery tours. We always welcome visitors!
